After a few rounds of testing, I think there is different result to run g-s-d with and without the "--debug" argument. This is what I do: kill -9 `pgrep "gnome-settings"`; gnome-settings-daemon --debug And then press the video switch hotkey or super+p and observe if the xrandr-plugin is called.
