And I've just realized that right clicks in empty spaces in the gnome panel
doesn't open the context menu.
So it seems it's something related to gnome-panel, not indicator-applet.

I opened Rhythmbox at 10:15:20
I clicked the close button at 10:15:25 (the window disappeared immediately)
The Rhythmbox section at the sound indicator disappeared and the shell was
available again at 10:15:36 (11 secs!)

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: rhythmbox
After closing Rhythmbox, it takes too long for it to disappear from the sound
indicator.
It's confusing: I thought it was still open and tried to click on the play
button, but then it disappeared.
I'm running an up-to-date Maverick setup.
