The "Categories" field is only one way that the menu specification
decide what subfolder of the menu it will end up with. The menu spec
says that ~/.config/menus/applications.menu is what decides where menus
go.
Alacarte is a menu spec compliant editor. If XFCE does not respect the

I have this bug as well and it really annoys me. For some reason I can't
ignore a blank monitor. I'd actually prefer to use my laptop monitor,
but I have two screens attached to a docking station (dell/nvidia) and
that seems to preclude using three screens. So I'd really like to just
be able to clo
FWIW, I have noticed this behavior as well. Confronted with a black
screen I ctrl-alt-f1 to a console and then back (actually, I tend to
walk back along f2, f3... but that isn't necessary, I'm just weird).
This brings back the screen so I think there is just an screen update
missing somewhere.

I am using Maverick Meerkat, did the latest partial upgrade yesterday, and I am
now trying to import two folders with songs. One contains wmas and the other
mp3s. Rhythmbox does not import anything at all. It does not crash either. I

check and after that it works. Don't think this has anything to do with

Just tried to check but Imap seems not to work and pop does no longer

When I double click a .ogv movie or other movie file, it is shown a
second in Totem and then the screen turns black. The movie does continue
to play and sound is heard. When I click on any Totem menu item the
video is shown as well. Very odd
