Seems that updating to 2.6.32-22 kernel is the problem but as mentioned
before booting with 2.6.32-21 kernel is no relief.
Also as mentioned in bug #575337 a significant delay in showing panels
was observed.

problem. It still takes ages to see the login window and takes even

Same problem here. But the power management appears every time I try to
log in and log in process takes much longer than before. The problem
showed up when I installed updates yesterday after a clean installation
of Lucid. I used GRUB to boot with pre-updated Linux system but the
problem persisted.
