Checking the procedure initially described with Brasero version 2.26.0
on Ubuntu 9.04 jaunty does not show the symptom.
For me it is o.k. to close the issue.

The version 0.9.1 is easy to obtain via ubuntu synaptic paket manager.
(Main, universe and multiverse allowed.)
I will switch to 9.0.4 when the version gets released. My computer is

No change when the precon is changed to audio CD in drive 1 and empty CD
in drive 2 and subsequently the Brasero app. is started.
