@pitboss: this is a rough way . It is better to restart unity with
unity --replace
also
compiz --replace
should work.

@ tkoun : thank you for the feedback.
@ tkoun & UbuntuTeam : I don't think Ubuntu can revert compiz to 0.8.6 version
in Natty. This would break Unity that is the real new stuff in Natty. And, I
think the bug is more trivial than we think, the difficult is to find it in the
code.
But, definitive
recko, the problem is not skype on startup.
I don't use skype on startup. The problem is ANY application using notification
area whatever you launch them.

Well, I haved success. I compiled all compiz packages from Maverick in

THIS IS AN EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE - PLEASE GIVE ME FEEDBACK IN PRIVATE

@tkoun: thank you, but I'm not so stupid :-) python2.6 is still present in
Natty: http://packages.ubuntu.com/natty/python2.6 simply it isn't the default
python.
So, I need help only to make a working package of compizconfig (and related
stuff) using it.

Can someone confirm this behaviour?

Is there someone expert in python 2.6 > 2.7 (and viceversa) transition? the
problem forward-porting Compiz 0.8.6 to Natty is that Compizconfig 0.8.x works
with python 2.6 and I was not able to rebuild it on Natty.
Please, write me in private ONLY if you think to have a solution:

You do miss the point. Ubuntu comes with GNOME, not KDE, LXDE etc. and
gnome-panel and compiz are officially supported, not something in
universe.

This is FLOSS. Compiz folks does their work well and we must thank them.
The duty of a *distributor* is to bring working software to users, not
the last blending edge and unpatched stuff from git.

Are you sure? :-)
Please, consider that compizconfig breaks, so you must configure compiz
> Problem gone with Gnome3
Obviously. GNOME 3 doesn't use compiz nor gnome-panel.

I dont't think the bug is in gnome-user-share.
The problem is that /usr/lib/apache2/mpm-worker/apache2 doesnt start on
2.6.38-5.
So, the big should be in the kernel or in apache.
