That was it- it was set to offline. I went to -file - work online, and
now it works. They were repairing the phone lines today and I checked my
email while the line was down, and I guess it switched automatically.

Binary package hint: evolution
Currently my send/recieve button is grayed out, therefore I cannot send
or receive messages. This began today, I don't know how. I have
restarted the computer and also reinstalled Evolution using Synaptic to
no avail. I use Ubuntu 9.04.
