Hi... Well It can be a partial fix. I haven't seen the pop up error yet, but
now when I hover some items in the Task panel some of the text explanations
(tool bar tips) or what ever Linux calls them go blank or black with or without
text.

I added the repository and did the usual update and this is what I got
when trying to upgrade cairo.

As for gdb, sorry never used it for debugging so I am at a complete loss on

I see in the old bug report that this was not answered thus the issue being
closed.
Which version of gnome-applets are you running?
If this is still a valid question in my case, please instruct me on how
to find the versions of the applet and I will be happy to post them.
