It's bugs like this, and Ubuntu's lack of response to them, that makes
it hard for me to recommend Linux to someone where I won't be monitoring
their computer constantly.
If a user can pop in a CD and right-click on it and has the option to
"Copy CD", the expect it to work when they select it. It

I can confirm that this is no longer an issue. The patches to Nautilus
which I mentioned earlier, which have since moved from the proposed

Furthermore, I even saw this behavior once when downloading a file to my
desktop from the Internet. Once the file had finished downloading, it
never appeared on the desktop until the desktop was manually refreshed.
This never happened in earlier versions of Ubuntu.

You're not understanding. None of the files are shown while the copy /

move procedure is *completely* finished, only one of the files are

Of course I can build the latest versions from source, even though
sometimes that means backtracking and building all the latest libraries
from source first. But as an average user trying to do average things
on a home computer, should I have to build things from source? Of
course not. Should an

general apparently don't really care about these little bugs that turn
out to be huge usability stumbling blocks, just like they'd rather stick

I also have this bug.
I'm surprised this bug is marked as low, as I would think not being able
to print PDF documents would be a major usability issue. It's the sort
of frustration that could send someone scrambling back to some other OS.

There is no crash report. As I said before, Rhythmbox closes just as if
you were the one to close it. Apport doesn't run, no crash report is
generated. It just closes on its own. So I suppose that means this bug
will now be ignored and simply won't get fixed. Wonderful.
