The only non-embedded font in the pdf is "Helvetica-Bold". On my system
it seems to be replaced by Arial, which is installed by the (non-free!)
ttf-mscorefonts-installer.

confirmed on karmic. xpdf, acroread and okular render correctly
it's pdf-1.4, optimised, with only scanned images of the pages inside
