I think is something wrong in sed (sed expression in post-installation
script):

The issue makes sed not working well with -s expressions
It looks can be solved changing LANG settings:
export LANG=C
(mine was LANG="es_ES.utf8" when error
This happened after online upgrade from 10.04 LTS.
