Found out that this happens only when compiz in enabled and nvidia
twinview is enabled.
works fine when i type "metacity --replace"

The problem occurs in hrady. in all menus including submenus. right click menu
is slow as well in almost all programs includign firefox(which i use the most).
if theres a fix can someone please let us know
