Hi Alberts,
Good work! I was also able to connect and logout multiple times after
restarting xrdp (sudo service xrdp restart).
All the processes end properly and the rdp window closes.
Now if we can just figure out what is different after restarting xrdp
compared to how it is after system boot..
Note also: problem comes back after system boot until you restart xrdp
again.

Hi Alberts,
Yes, Super+Tab only works before patch is added. It doesn't work after patch is
added.
As you said, Alt+Tab is an alternative for Super+Tab.
I've done some more testing of Super key shortcuts using shortcuts from

I have tested metacity 1:2.34.13-0ubuntu4.1 and while the s key now
works correctly (no longer opens the Applications menu), the Super

I uninstalled the trusty proposed metacity, libmetacity-pri

Public bug reported:
On logout, the window changes to a blank purple screen and never closes.
All the processes are still running.
This is a big problem because in Trusty, Unity needs hardware acceleration, so

Hi people,
Thanks very much for all the help.
I can run gnome-flashback in Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS (up to date) using xrdp/vnc
now, but it is not workable yet.
I'm using Remote Desktop from Windows 7 to connect to Ubuntu.
The major problem is that logging out doesn't work. The window changes to a

Thanks very much for your explanations. Based on them I've done more
research and now understand much better. Very interesting! Sorry for the
late reply - I've been on holidays.

Would someone please explain what the problem is in simple terms?
I thought it was that Unity in Ubuntu 14.04 requires 3D acceleration but if so,
why does Unity work when run in VirtualBox without 3D acceleration, and also
when run in a VMware VM in a vSphere console?
