@Pedro. First off sorry for the long response time in advance. I am able
to implement this bug in Karmic also on Ubuntu. To be more specific,
there is no error in the logs, maybe this is just a simple curve ball in
the coding and simple fix... The shuffle button only shuffles songs in
your Library

I attached the txt file you requested. I am not getting an error
message or bug necessarily, so maybe there is nothing to report to you.
But I am trying to explain in Rhythmbox, there are GUI buttons to
"Shuffle" which should "play songs in a random order", but that does
nothing when you click on

Are you running a non stock kernel? Meaning, did you upgrade
Had this same problem until I loaded the restricted-modules package that
corresponded to the kernel version I'm running. Now 3d apps doesn't
hang the system any more.
