There wasn't any error, but there was also no way to configure the
account.
It turns out I needed to install gnome-control-center-signon. Since
this is the only way to configure accounts for empathy, perhaps that
should be one of empathy's dependencies?

Public bug reported:
Accounts can't be configured in empathy in 12.10. I think this is
because of the online accounts fork (I have the gnome-shell version of
online accounts, but not the ubuntu version). I think maybe I should
have both?

I tried purging my gnome-terminal settings (gconftool --recursive-unset
/apps/gnome-terminal) in the hopes that I would then be rid of any
problem settings from previous versions, but that didn't make any
difference. There are no dconf settings for gnome-terminal, afaik.

Public bug reported:
I have unchecked the box "Show menubar by default in new terminals" in
Profile Preferences, but new terminals are always created with the
menubar. I then have to select "View->Show Menubar" twice to hide the
menubar. This is a regression from prior versions of ubuntu.

The pager does work as expected when using metacity. The interesting
thing is that it (the workspace switcher) is overriding my openbox

I am having this issue as well. One thing worth mentioning is that I am
using openbox as my window manager. The workspace switcher has always
worked perfectly in the past. I will try in metacity momentarily and
report if the issue goes away.

The rhythmbox still doesn't work. The fields are now editable when you
go to change song titles/artist/etc., and it works until you close
rhythmbox. It appears that the changes aren't written to the file
though, because the next time when you start rhythmbox all the songs are

Sorry, I should have realized this is a GNOME issue... I don't actually
run the GNOME desktop, just a few of the apps (epiphany, abiword, etc.).
Anyway, thanks for investigating this.

I'm using dapper. I'd never used nautilus before (mostly stick to the

now everything does open up in gvim (thanks). I still think this is
probably a bug though? Why does "Text Editor" really mean "gedit?" It
