I am being hampers by constant Evolution crashes since doing a fresh
install of 22.04; previously on 20.04.

@Mark, my understanding from the previous messages is that it's in
"proposed" at present. Once it's gone through the processes explained
above, it is released to 20.04 main. I.e. we all get the update
normally.

unplugged monitor cable, unplugged monitor power

Adding some additional testing to my above comments.
*When second monitor is not removed*, i.e. remains connected, lock
screen/suspend resume all restore display as expected after latest
updates as suggested by Daniel in

For me, the issue is fixed when unlocking the screen.
However NOT when resuming laptop after a suspend.
Laptop, using laptop display only > Suspend > Plugin additional monitor
> Resume. Only laptop screen is active.

I ended up restoring a backup of my Evolution folder and all was fine
from there. I'm not sure of the cause of the issue but that work around
was acceptable for me as I ha daily backups and it got me back up and
running.
Sorry I can't be of more assistance.
