none of the workarounds or suggestions here work for me. It is an
impossible task getting nvidia drivers to work even when only using
XORG/ X11 services and NOT wayland. I will keep looking for answers...

I’ve attempted login to Ubuntu on Xorg(Default) and also Ubuntu on Xorg,
and even Ubuntu(Default). Any and all options just bring me right back
to the password boxlogin loop.

K...so we’re getting closer! After a fresh install yet again, and following
very closely the steps outlined in post #66, I am now at the lighten login
screen. It will NOT let me login, it’s a constant login loop every time I put
in my password. But at least I’m past boot loop. I attempted to fix
@CaptSaltyJack - I'm reinstalling from scratch...should be about an hour
or so. Then before I do anything at all, I will go ahead with each of
your steps and then report back if I have success or not.

installation. Empty Trash always opens Nautilus. This did not happen in
14.04
