I consistently see bonobo-activation-server not killed after *proper*
logout. Using:
hardy beta LiveCD
hardy beta fresh install, with or without updates.
hardy beta upgraded over gutsy, with or without updates.

I can reproduce this both in LiveCD and in an installation upgraded from
7.10 and updated to the latest updates. Compiz on in both cases.
I use reiserfs. I will try ext3 later. (But if it happens in LiveCD it's
bad enough.)
One set of steps I did:

I see this too, i.e., logout, login, then trash can is very likely
invisible. The applet is running (e.g., ps says it's running), in fact
right-clicking at a thin region where you expect it, its right-click
menu still shows up. So it's as though it has a very thin width.
I upgraded from 7.10, and
