as a camera, since Nuatilus would always mount it first. So I would just
copy the files off the phone with Nautilus and *then* import them into
Shotwell.

Another "side-effect" of this event is that the screen will instantly go
black after 30 idle seconds (it doesn't dim to black or use my normal

Thank you for responding. I tried to restart, but all I got was a
flashing cursor in the top left of my screen. So, in the end, I had to
reinstall Ubuntu from scratch. The same problem re-occurred again, and
forced me to re-install from scratch a third time. This last time, from
the very first boot

X11. I just logged into Ubuntu 20.04 in a Wayland session and could not
reproduce this bug there, either using Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V or the Copy/Paste

The permissions are in fact different: the Nautilus-created files are
644 (because my "New Text Document.txt" template in ~/Templates is 644),

It's a shame, it sure seems like moving to the desktop-icons extension
gives up a lot of functionality that was available when nautilus
rendered the desktop. vmware-tools drag-and-drop is gone, too.

Recently upgraded from 18.10 to 19.04. Under Preferences/Behavior I
have "Show action to permanently delete files and folders" checked, but
when I right-click a file or folder on the desktop only "Move to Trash"
is offered. This was working previously in 18.10.

Accepted gnome-applets into disco-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-
applets/3.30.0-3build1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.
Please help us by testing this new package. S
