I have the same bug and error message when trying to run the flatpak
"Tuner" from the Flathub store (same error message) and from the launch
panel (app doesn't launch, non error message).
Removing and reinstalling the app had no effect. No other app seems
affected.

Here is a proposed patch. It changes the action when all the conditions
are met from "do nothing" to "prefer wayland". Hence even if nvidia_drm
event was processed first and opted to "prefer xorg", further processing
of events will override the preference.

Hey folks. Have the same issue on my setup on a laptop with hybrid
graphics. On jammy and oracular gdm3 is driven by wayland but noble
tends to run gdm3 driven by xorg. However in rare cases it was driven by
wayland (as intended).
I've made an investigation and realized that udev rules for gdm

Thanks for the detailed verification, Nathan, specially comments #3 and
#7. And I agree that if the failed test is not a regression from this
SRU, it shouldn't block it.

Note that now the MIR[1] can be acted upon, I believe, pending a seed
change mentioned in comment #15 of that bug.
Once the MIR is done in noble, then excuses[2] for gnome-control-center
should run without the component mismatch it's showing now[2]:
