I pulled gnome-shell, gnome-shell-common, mutter, and mutter-common
42.5-0ubuntu1 on 22.04.1 LTS, rebooted, and was able to immediately
reproduce the issue by locking my screen and attempting to unlock it.

Blurry Ubuntu logo and name in abo
This fixed it. Search/Filter now works fine in Nautilus. I hit another
issue just before I checked this bug report, in which Nautilus couldn't
find any files and crashed. Obviously an issue with tracker.

Understand this refactoring work is handled by the maintainer and no
release date committed at this point.
Still want to add this in a wish list since this issue is really causing
bad user experience in Wayland mode.
