Hello, please note, the bash(1) manpage describes when the ~/.profile is
read:
When bash is invoked as an interactive login shell, or as a
non-interactive shell with the --login option, it first reads
and executes commands from the file /etc/profile, if that
file exists
Public bug reported:
It seems that ~/.profile is not sourced anymore when gnome-terminal is launched
for the first time as it should be the case in the POSIX standard :
https://www.gnu.org/software/bash/manual/html_node/Bash-Startup-Files.html
** Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu)
Importance:
This problem seems to have escalated to the point that .profile is not
sourced anymore at startup, neither is .bashrc.

As this SRU touches existing code, I would like to see a regression
potential section added to the bug description [1], aka. "Where problems
could occur". Can someone take a look and write up some ideas on what
could go wrong in case the cherry-picked code is buggy? Thanks.

Sorry, I should write “maybe”. But calendar sync worked earlyer. Something
changed during the last update of ??.deb and since this sync does not
work.

I wasn't able to do anything about this - had COVID, fortunately the
light form, but I still had to sleep a lot.
However, after upgrading the system I haven't had this issue anymore.
I will still keep it under observation for a few weeks or so and keep
this updated.

I recall that drag and drop was known to be broken in Firefox on Wayland

I currently have the bug with Firefox 103.0b9 and mutter 42.2-0ubuntu1.
It went away for a while then it came back; I was not able to determine
the exact version which determined the (possible) regression. I am
available for tests and any additional information if it can help. Thank
you in advance
Have you tried just pressing the Super ('Windows') key to get into the
Activities overview? I've had this bug ever since I started using Gnome:
in Ubuntu 20.04, in PopOS, in Manjaro, in Fedora. The Super key trick
works every time. It'd still be nice to fix the underlying issue,
though.
