Please remove nomodeset from /etc/default/grub and then run:
sudo update-grub
and reboot. "nomodeset" will prevent almost all graphics drivers from
working - you don't want that.
Please also ensure you have a valid driver installed for the "GeForce
930MX" by using the 'Additional Drivers' app

Hi Timo,
Thanks for an update!
I can confirm the bug no longer happens with mutter (and friends, i.e.
mutter-common, libmutter etc) 42.1-0ubuntu1 (installed from jammy-
proposed). I'm not observing any other issues or side effects.

Yes we know it's not fixed for everyone. That's why the bug is still
open here and upstream in https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-
shell/-/issues/2173
If however the original OP is satisfied with the changes in 42.1 then
this bug should close and the remaining issues only tracked in the
upstream
It's not circular. Bug 1970413 is closed because it's a duplicate of
this bug 1799679.

I have the same issue, plus I couldn't share resource between the VMWare

This also affects me too. It's more of an annoyance (at least in my
case), as clicking the back arrow in the top left corner, and then
clicking on the video thumbnail temporarily fixes the issue. It's
opening video files directly that causes this glitch for me.
