Could you help check which is the good version of gnome-shell and
gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons? From the last time it worked, and check
the /var/log/apt/history.log
I met an issue of drag and drop a file one year ago, I thought it
should be the same root cause, the mutter didn't

I just check the old version of gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons, I
still could reproduce this change, so it's not regression update in
20.04.0-3~0ubuntu20.04.6 at least. I will check the update history and
code to find the root cause.

That is because, actualy, Shotwell keeps the real comment in its
database but the embedded metadata of the picture (Right-Clic on the
picture in Nautilus) remains as "binary comment".

Switching users causes the login screen to lock up and the mouse and
keyboard to become unresponsive.
The order is this:
1) I select "switch user..." from the top bar
2) the login screen pops up and displays the list of users
