I have a similar problem on my Dell XPS 13 - if I boot the laptop with the
headphones (3.5mm) plugged in, then it essentially disabled the 3.5mm headphone
jack - nothing I've tried re-enabled it again (eg unplugging/replugging the
headphone, all the settings, etc). Only a reboot without the head
I have upgraded to mutter 3.36.2-1ubuntu1~20.04.1 this morning and rebooted.
I can confirm this new version fixes the problem for me.

After setting fractional scaling to 150%, a dead mouse pointer stays
visible on screen. It is smaller than the functional one (it seems to be
the size it should have at 100%).
My configuration:
- Ubuntu 20.04
- AMD Radeon 5700 XT using open source drivers
- Logitech MX Master
I should probably mention that I'm also using a 4k UHD external display.
I am seeing the same effect using the noveau drivers as the NVIDIA
drivers (although, using the NVIDIA drivers the entire system
occasionally and randomly hangs, but that's probably (?) unrelated).

I removed all but Desktop Icons, Ubuntu AppIndicators and Ubuntu Dock,
rebooted and then reproduced the issue. Luckily I've found one way to
reproduce this, albeit somewhat convoluted and still a bit unreliable,
involving Synaptic and window tiling. And as it doesn't seem to trigger
the issue when
