This is most likely a vlc bug and should be reassigned to it. I am
experiencing it in VLC under sway so unless the same bug exists across
sway and mutter it's probably a vlc thing.

Ok, this is enervating. The only current way to change colors is to follow this
algo:
- Open System Monitor
- Select the wanted single cpu color and change it to a new custom one
- Close System Monitor
- Repeat
I had to do that 10 times, but nvm it worked...

I have Dell 7530 with Nvidia Quadro P3200 (nvidia driver 418.74),
running Ubuntu 18.04 (with all the latest updates) and I observe the
same thing: with power cable it boots fine and without it gets stuck on
"bpfilter started".
WaylandEnable=false
was already uncommented in /etc/gdm3/custom.conf.
It would be great to have the "old" source field work in Bionic for
snaps and debs though. It's already shown for flatpaks in Bionic. The
same fix could be applied for snaps and debs in gnome-software 3.28 in
Bionic. See the attached screenshot for clarification on the telegram
app.

Using 3.28.5-0ubuntu1 it seems to work fine, browsing google, launchpad,
clicking on url, using the history, opening the shell menu were done
without issue, marking as verified

The same happens when opening URLs from within VSCode. The newly opened
browser window seems to inherit the window class.
To correct the class run:

I have the same issue. On my machine I have 2 accounts: and admin
account and a regular user account. For the admin - the "Switch User"
option never appears. For the regular user - the option appears
sometimes (can't figure out what the circumstances that cause it to
appear are)

In case it helps. The bp_filter issue only affects me when booting
without connected to power. In other words, the screen gets stuck on
this only when booting with the battery alone.
I'm using a DELL Precision 7730 with an NVIDIA Quadro P4200, with Ubuntu
18.04 and NVIDIA driver 430.

Closing Cosmic task as Cosmic goes EOL in a month from now and Disco is
available. In addition, the problem only occurs when updating from an
older Ubuntu release. So it is recommended to generally update to Disco
instead of to Cosmic and in case one updated to Cosmic getting this
problem to update
I don't understand why this is not getting fixed. This bug means that a
user with encrypted home directory can't have different locale settings
than the system defaults.
