When nautilus is expanded horizontally the search bar shows up behind
the path bar. This can be seen when it's maximized.
I've attached a screenshot.

On my end, I haven't been able to reproduce this so far with Ubuntu
Appindicators disabled. It's very stable for me now. I am not 100% sure

I just encountered what looks like this bug, but it worked a little bit
differently:
1) Attempted to change admin account's password (xxx to yyy) using Users and
Groups. It was rejected for being too similar to the one to be changed.
2) Tried changing to an automatically generated password (AUTOG
I am able to make this work by first stopping and then restarting the
"gnome-documents" process. Search results from GNOME Shell will then be
opened in Documents as expected. Unfortunately, after a few searches,
Documents will crash and searching from g-s will no longer work.

After seeing Alex's post, I tried installing 410.104-0ubuntu0~18.10.1 from
ppa:graphics-drivers.
Using 4.18.0-16-generic kernel.
I find that when I use Intel profile, powertop reports the nvidia card as 0%
active, and the setting in Tunables shows up as Good.
However, /proc/acpi/bbswitch reports
p.s.: restarting gnome-shell (with SIGQUIT) works as a temporary patch.
