In show applications / utilities / logs, we find the LOGS application. When you
open the screen it is not possible to resize it. It is larger than the screen
configuration. It does not maximize the screen after it is open.

will hang about 95% of the time (1 in 20). With this test package, it
now works 100% of the time as long as I don't switch to tty1.

I was able to reproduce the bug, and this upstream fix[1] look
promising.
On my test machine, using a test package containing this patch on top of
current gdm3 bionic, chvt doesn't hang anymore, and work as expected.
I'd would like more feedback before I proceed with an SRU.

just landed upstream and for wayland sessions only, that should be in
the incoming Ubuntu Disco version first and unsure it's going to be
something that is possible to SRU since it involves quite some
refactoring.

indexes or even installing security upgrades in background, those
situations are not reflected nicely in the graphical session (and the
gnome-software warning is not really nice either)
