Yeah, installed from the deb it doesn't have this behavior. The UI
wants to show whatever state it was in when it started, so I think the
dconf setting is getting set. For example, if I tick "All processes"
when just the user processes are listed, I briefly see all processes
then it reverts back.
I'm willing to help test this, so please let me know what to do.

colours are ugly and dull when a colour profile is active. It's
immediately obvious in the Google logo on the search page. And the

To launch the deb I use $ /usr/bin/gnome-system-monitor, from a gnome-
terminal.
After a reboot, deb works, snap doesn't.

I can confirm this
- except the freezing/non-responding on a fresh Ubuntu Installation.
I installed with 18.04 and upgraded to 18.10 afterwards.

Can you confirm the problem is confined to older kernels?
Or more simply, can you please confirm that the problem does not exist
in Ubuntu 18.10? :)

Yes, this is still an issue. Please see the above scripts. I am not
aware of why gnome-settings-daemon does not receive the keypress and
trigger airplane mode, if those X11 packages are up to date.

It's still an issue in Ubuntu 18.04 and 18.10. g-c-c should really
prompt the user to install gnome-online-accounts if it is not installed
instead of pretending to work and then failing.

Since upgrade to 18.10 any new PDF file shows the red acrobat icon
instead of a thumbnail. Nautilus shows the time icon as though it's
computing the thumbnail but then displays the default icon instead.
