Ruslan (#80) solution worked also for me:
- amarok MTP plugin disabled
- amarok restarted
- it is now working
As Stephen, I'm not KDE user (Xubuntu) but I use amarok always in
systray ;)
It would be nice to fix amarok mtp plugin.
Many thanks for the workaround :-D

The workaround fixes it for me too. Other wifi adapters I have (one using
rt73usb, the other rtl8812au) don't need it, so maybe the bug lies in athk9_htc.
How did you find the workaround? (just curious, apart from this bug my google
searches only gave me outdated or irrelevant information).

Public bug reported:
After a fresh install of Rhythmbox, trying to run from the app launcher
in GNOME desktop results in the attempted-opening-rhythmbox instance
unresponsive. After ten or fifteen seconds, it says this program has
failed to respond, and asks me to Wait or Force Quit the program.
I switched from the open source xserver-xorg-video-nouveau driver to
nvidia-375 in the Additional Drivers tab of the Software & Updates
application and was able to recover after locking my screen with Ctrl-
Alt-L, which was locking up my mouse and keyboard before.

Not sure what causes the problem or how to fix it manually but a reboot
cleared it up for me (same exact error message from terminal as original
reporter). So after reboot it is working fine again. This is Ubuntu
16.04, btw.
