I also was just struggling with this issue, but I think I found an
answer.
Going back to the original post, here are the equivalent Windows and
Nautilus search patterns:
Windows: "win*.dll"
Nautilus: "wi
Simply install Nautilus (file manager).
I had this bug with the "open containing folder" contextual menu in
Transmission, and this is what fixed it for me. Good luck!

This is an extremely odd bug that requires a very specific scenario to
reproduce:
1) You need to be using an ecryptfs-style cryptoswap partition (as would
be setup when you choose "Encrypt my home directory" during the
installation)
2) The underlying physical swap partition

Actually we are still missing checking /etc/udev/rules.d/80-net-setup-
link.rules → /dev/null, the other documented way how to disable ifnames.
