When logged in using gnome and attempt to set the screen timeout to any value
other than "never" and exiting the control panel the setting does not take
effect. Upon reentering the control panel you will see that the setting is
still set to "never" even if you set

gnueabihf/qt5/examples/qtlocation/declarative/flickr/qml_location_flickr

Behaviour on my machine is erratic: right now the screen won't turn off,
no matter what value I choose. But on some boots the value I choose does
work, even though it reverts to "never" on reopening.
When I go to the Brightness & Lock panel, even before I change anything, I get

I now have 2 laptops to try on & currently both get the interactive screen in
an ubuntu session. That being said some other expected behavior concerning

The actual setting chosen is set & works here, eg, if I choose 1 min the
display is turned off after 1 min., ect.
However the panel, when re-opened *always* displays "never"
Also it's unclear as to where the setting is saved, after changing
