I realized in my GNOME control center I have repeated icons (attached
screenshot), for example the 'Online Accounts' (Cuentas en Lineas) or
the language support.
I believe they are instances of the Gnome2 and the Gnome3 versions of
those settings.

I have been using gksu nautilus to change ownership of each newly
formatted ext4 partition and/or root-owned files that I need to rename,
modify or delete from time to time. One such use is with fstab. I
prefer to rename it and modify a copy. When happy with the

Using a weak machine I have 12.04.2 and classic-shell without effects (because
of a jurassic vino bug). I've read this 878836 bug but not sure what to
understand. I have not GDM installed so I think I use LightDM + Unity-greeter,
and see gnome-screensaver is installed (3.4).
Can I have the lock
Running gksu nautilus is not supported. Please see bug 389847 for the
request for nautilus to support doing things with elevated permissions.
