I had gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor crashed after I upgraded to Precise from Oneiric.
Since I'm affected by #571038, I had to patch udisks. After that

I've encountered this bug, but only on one computer. I'm running an
almost identical setup on two laptops, but I've never seen this happen
on the first one (after using it for months). I've seen it happen twice
on the second laptop in about a week.
What I've noticed:

The problem seems to come from init scripts that use "su". This is
wrong. The start-stop-daemon system should be used instead. There is an

Trying to shutdown from a (one and only) Desktop session just logs out
to lightdm. There "shutdown" leads to nothing. No reaction. There is no
