An update. I ran nautilus for two days without a problem. I did not
use bst.linux the program that fails. I suspect that bst.linux 'leaks'
and corrupts other programs does that make sense to you? I understand
that bst was written and compile in Delphi. The last and I suspect final
^ looks the same, but my desktop directory is "~/Desktop".
According to "about" nautilus itself is 3.2.1 - see the first post.
nautilus --version shows "GNOME nautilus 3.2.1". Synaptic shows the
package version as "1:3.2.1-0ubuntu4.2".

Well the other issue has to deal with Icons being offset because of the
Unity Launcher positioning the effective screen space to the right 48
pixels. When going back to Gnome-Shell there is no longer this offset so
all of the icons move over, and perhaps a glitch happens when logging
back into Unit
