Evolution stops displaying messages preview after few minutes of usage.
On evolution restart it displayes preview for short time and again stops
preview. The preview panel becomes blank.
Do let me know if more information is required to solve this problem.

did you run the unity-greeter under your user? it's known to desactivate
some gnome-settings-daemon settings and will do it to your user config
if you run it as your user...
otherwise reset your org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins using gsettings
and you should be good

Sure thing.
I start any gnome session (Unity, Pantheon, Gnome-Shell etc...) and they all
look broken. And by broken I mean:
GTK 2 apps look ugly (they use some fallback GTK 2 theme, see the equalizer on
screenshot I originally attached)
The fonts are not the fonts I've selected via Gnome-tweak-T
