I'm getting an issue like this in Precise where a solid white rectangle
appears in the tooltip, obscuring the contact details (see attached

I've found a way to 'handle' the bug, and make changes as I wished, and
have my sound back.
1 - To access the control-center.
# sudo gnome-control-center
There you make the changes, and your user stills affected.
2 - To have the sound back...
# sudo apt-get install dkms
#sudo reboot
Aft
the workaround is giving permission to your user:
sudo chown; chgrp "user" file (without the "quotation")
you have to do this to all files inside the ~/.gnupg directory
and then you can create your key!

I'm proposing a new version of the patch made by Dmitry and reverted in
the last version. It's not so different but instead of removing the
menubar, menubar's widget is not created for the desktop naut
I got tired of waiting for this to be fixed, so I implemented a
workaround.
I moved the gedit binary to gedit.bin, then I created a shell-script
named "gedit" that calls gedit.bin with the --standalone option:
% mv /usr/bin/gedit /usr/bin/gedit.bin
% vi /usr/bin/gedit

I've just installed 64bit 11.10 on Aspire One D255 and the touchpad

Having pete downgrade to 3.2.2-0ubuntu17 resolved the problem.
He also found the crash only occurred when the wacom tablet was plugged
in; unplugging it worked around the bug.

I am trying to use this feature of empathy. But "share my desktop "
option remains grayed and not able to click.

Using Gnome Shell, Appearance Settungs looks quite broken. It is still
using the patched settings panel (which was designed for Unity), but
with various elements unceremoniously removed.
The horizontal separator above Theme is off balance, especially with the
Adwaita theme. I

I filed bug #934335 asking to move the icons to hicolor, so other icon themes
don't need to worry about all of this.
There is also probably a bug to file against gnome-control-center. I

The issue was caused by a chain of python imports in the set of plugins I was
running. This specific problem was cause by bzr-dbus and bzr-notify both of
which had fallback conditions to import from old gtk or old gobject.
I located the problem imports by placing a pdb

can't do more of a backtrace when nautilus crashes it freezes my
terminal and it won't except copy/paste or typed in commands!!

There's also the case when people have non-music files in their music
folders. For instance, I have a few text files with some music-related
notes, which keep getting re-added and treated as import errors. But
perhaps this is a different bug...
