Hi, I have a problem that has annoyed me for several years now. Nautilus
has big problems with FTP connections.
Although it was changed in version 11.10 of Ubuntu it still do not work
as expected.
What happens?
If I try to access a FTP folder from the bookmarks when the FTP
I just discovered that if you type a '%' in the Search field, all the
names in the Address list show up. '%' is the SQL wildcard symbol.
Is this the way the 'Bcc:' dialog window is supposed to work?

Repro steps
1. Launch nautilus
2. Key in the first few letters of a file or directory, until the file /
directory is highlighted
3. Press enter
4. At this point, typing a lowercase character does not cause Nautilus to pop
Further testing:
The text will eventually condense - I tripled the name of the second (from
left) icon and it did eventually condense.
However, not soon enough to make anything readable with the minimum
icon separation dictated by "Keep Aligned". I expected it to condense
enough to not interfere
"Keep Aligned" was and is still turned on. In the first pic the icons
were as close together as keep aligned would let them be (0 icons worth
of space in between). In this new pic, the icons are separated by 1 icon
worth of space, again according to keep aligned.

Downloading the fixed nautilus package from the ppa

have fixed the problem in my installation (fresh install of 11.10, but
with the home directory left intact from 11.04).
Confirmed that problem goes away on unity 2D. Problem happens on utity

to 10.04 from 11.10, it's a lite-on DH20A4P-04. It'll mount the disc at
startup and for an unknown amount of time after startup. But at some

I can confirm similar behaviour, although I only have one monitor. It
might be a nvidia driver bug / "feature".
When I try the open source driver nouveau, gnome-control-center color
shows my monitor and I can add ICC profiles for it. But calibration
button is still disabled.

I have only experienced this in Nautilus. I've also only heard people
complaining about Nautilus. I use a fully updated 11.10, with Unity.
I haven't been able to reproduce it reliably, but it has happened
several times. Though it doesn't prove anything, it's only happened when

This is not a clean install. I upgraded from Natty.
- search box doesn't clear on directory change
- backspace doesn't erase character, but goes up directory tree
- esc closes search box, but doesn't clear it

when in ubuntu 11.10 beta I opened nautilus clicked in the main window and
typed the first letters of folder 1 name until it highlighted it, then pressed
"enter" which opened the folder, but inside folder 2 I cannot keep typing to
search for the next folder name. It seems

some multimedia keys work,some dont in my "gnome alike" sessions, they work in
the kde session.
Volume controls work everywhere, next/previous track only works in kde.

It indeed seems similar, though, when I had this issue, I couldn't get
it to become non-transparent again. Forcing a redraw as mentioned in
that other bug doesn't work.
As I'm using Gnome Classic, this issue won't be in 11.10 (by default)
Next to that, it seems that the issue has been resolved on
