I'm having the same problem.
Until recently I used KDE/Dolphin/Kate and that never happened. Now I've
switched to Nautilus/Gedit and the problem occurs, with 10.04 as well

2 images. The first image is always shown, the second never. That's not
very random.

I get this problem too with my iPod touch 3G. I'm not sure it happens every
time, but it's pretty often.
Sometimes I've unenabled the iPod plugin, restarted Rhythmbox, and enabled the
plugin to get it working.

notification area does not cause the issue to my testing. on the other
side i have only reproduced this bug once.
