I'll give that a try. Just confirming that trying to print when having
the preview blank results in a blank document. To print from gimp I'm
needing to save as a Jpeg and open that in the image viewer. Prints fine
from there though.

Okay, I figured it out. This is NOT a bug after all.
I was pouring over the gnome-invest code, and couldn't find anything
wrong.
Performing some creative web searches, I discovered that Yahoo! is no
longer sending Dow data through their .CSV feed.

It's amazing how this problem has been so persistant with Ubuntu (CPU
jumping to 90-100%), I wish I could help resolve it but I'm not a coder.
However, I can share my work around; I uninstalled 'gnome-system-
monitor' and now use the 'awn system monitor' instead to monitor my
system's performance.
How come this has not been corrected in Lucid?
In my opinion, these values are way too high for anyone not involved
with photography or graphic design: with over 40,000 items on my
thumbnail cache, it took my laptop about one minute to be available for
any meaningful work after logging in. This on
@Roman: I got updated packages from your PPA: then I was be able to right-click
a file and send it to my mobile phone. I did it without rebooting the PC after
updates.
I think these updates can be put in maverick archives.

I did the same as comment #38, which was to delete my db file and have
Rhytombox reimport everything. It seems that gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly
is needed to have the correct information, and that isn't available on

I was able to partially work around this:
1. open KDE's systemsettings app
2. select "Keyboard & Mouse" > Mouse > Cursor Theme
3. select a DIFFERENT cursor than the current (desired) one
4. click Apply
5. re-select the desired theme
6. click Apply again
I'm using the DMZ (Black) GNOME theme, if t
It would be nice if g-s-d cleans the cache with very low I/O priority to
avoid slowing down other applications, which want to read from the disk
- e.g. firefox almost freezes during g-s-d activity. (In my case, g-s-d
runs almost half a minute each time I log in and computer is very
unresponsive.)
I agree, that can be really bad for the user experience.
If a fix has been committed upstream, then it will be a good idea to patch the
current package with it.

Some file are not streamed, but stored in /tmp/totem-* and played by totem if
fully downloaded. This can take a long time. Please look at /tmp/ directory,
whether there is such a file with increasing size. If so, that's a problem not
related to this bug.

On a irregular basis the pc frezzes when left alone for a wile. The
problem semmed to apear when it is left in the login window. Thou I'm
not 100% sure because there is no way to get it to inidcate anything
when the problem occur.

Printing preview does not show anything. Export it to a pdf file creates
a blank image. I only can print in gimp under gutenprint.

When a folder is clicked, nautilus does not respond, then greys out, comes back
after about 3 to 5 minutes, displays the content o the folder.
The same thing happens when trying to access subfolders.
