I am having trouble with wrong files opening as well. For me I first
noticed it in openoffice (writer and impress - when I try to insert
files into documents), but I can confirm the same behaviour with file-

for some afer running that script it wont disappear anymore, so I havnt
made it as a startup but, for some reason it fixed the disappearing
after reboot problem (its perma launching now.)
just sharing that script out, for the new guys, save it in a text file and run
it in a terminal.

I am having the same problem. I select video project and add a video
(tried several formats), selecting the defaults for everything else. As
soon as I click Burn, the Burning DVD box opens with a status of
"Ejecting medium" and an error box pops up saying "Error while burning.

Similar problem here, I was not able to use touchpad-/mouseclicks e.g. in "Save
as"- and "Scale layer"-windows.
The solution for me was to set the mode of all devices to "disabled" in the
extended input devices options, only device working in "window"-mode is the

I'm affected by this bug too, not only the notification area is a mess, but
also all my 4 panels and applets go crazy until i issue a "sudo killall
gnome-panel".

Lucid's GDM automatic timed login works only on boot-there is no count
down to log default user again after he logs out making this bug not

I'm also experiencing this bug on 10.04 32-bit. Recieving similar errors
to previously stated. Strangely, the error occurs only some of the time.
It worked first time on an xvid .avi, but a second try on the same file
produced the error and the frozen progress bar.

since approx. 2-3 weeks the reported bug also disappeared on my version.
I always continued doing updates for ubuntu 9.10 and I think it was
resolved after I got a bunch of updates inluding kernel 2.6.3

Steps to reproduce.
1: Evolution downloads the new message titles and senders.
2: I click on the title of a new big message (like 10MB).
3: Evolution starts downloading all text and all attachments the message,
displays "Formatting message..." and hangs for 5-10 m

Hm, that didn't work , probably because you didn't provide a PID. I was
silly, since you're on Lubuntu, gnome-settings-daemon isn't running. So
start users-admin, get its PID using 'pidof users-admin', and replce
$PID with this value in the command.

but only the evolution-data-server in order to get the Send to-Plugin to

Thank you for that hint.
Although I do not intend to change to Lucid yet, I like to inform that
since approx. 2-3 weeks the reported bug also disappeared on my version.
I always continued doing updates for ubuntu 9.10 and I think it was
resolved after I got a bunch of updates inluding kernel 2.6.3

I installed the latest version of Evolution 2.30.2 . The bug is still
present. I attached a edited screenshot to explain how to reproduce the
bug. Possibly 2 or 3 different bugs.
Method 1: drag a contact from one folder to the ubuntu one folder. ->

accept the password. User could log back in to the locked session by
switch user and login from graphical login screen.
Seems my guess the old settings from 8.0
I don't use qemu/kvm, and unfortunately still have the same problems as
