Is this really an Indicator Application bug? Banshee has already
implemented such a PlayPause button and that is working with Indicator
Application without any problems. I reckon it's just a case of
implementing it in the application itself.

This looks to me to be a problem with Nautilus (or whatever is providing
the delete->trash mechanism).
I suspect that it doesn't want to move files across mount points, as
this can take a long time (as compared to flipping a few inodes).

a separate partition from / and /tmp. Don't encrypt the home. See if
