I have the same problem today after i reuse a evolution backup. To solve
it i delete the gnome-keyring and re-enter my password in evolution ( it
was a newly created gnome-keyring).
I think the problem was generated when i entered incorrectly my e-mail
password into evolution after restoring the b

I run Ubuntu on a few headless computers with very little RAM and
booting off flash drives. Turning off icons helped immensly. 9.10 is in
all aspects, except GUI, worse than 9.04. If I could, I would have still
be runnig 8.04 today. But sadly one needs drivers...

a) I was connecting remotely using vnc4server.
b) Connecting locally allows me to mount any of the"problem" discs OK.
c) If I mount the disk locally and then access the server through vnc4server I
can open and access the disk.

I certainly had access to both disks last time I looked which would have

Samba 2:3.4.0-3ubuntu5.4 was installed on 31 Jan (See end of previous

I also just finished patching current Ubuntu 9.10 xorg
(2:1.6.4-2ubuntu4.1) and it works perfectly. The patch applied cleanly
with no issues, and after that my XKB shortcut (ALT+SHIFT) switches only

Yeah, that was a problem in gnome-about-me, which is fixed upstream, so
will be fixed with next upload to Lucid. Could be worth a SRU if
somebody wants to spend some time on it - the fix is quite short. Also

Workaround (not 100% precise):
- remove rm -rf $HOME/.dbus on both hosts
- reboot both hosts
- retry
- on the remote host, $HOME/.dbus now belongs to root!!!
- remove it (as root).
Now it works, as far as I could understand.

Sorry for my last info. It is wrong. Although "it works", the X and Y
settings in monitors.xml are not meant for setting these display's
dimensions. It seems they are used for an offset in the position of
everything on your screen. It works if you put anything different than
the default (0 and 0) t
