I can't believe that this bug is going to make it into Karmic final :( I
just helped a friend of mine get rid of his spyware ridden Windows
install by installing Karmic RC remotely and fully updated it. I was sad
to hear that the screen was flickering when it restarted. I tried the
HAL patch listed

It finally loaded up for me and mostly works, but it sometimes just
takes forever to download a simple email. I switched off the
"Automatically synchronize remote mail locally" option as my IMAP has a
lot of emails in it, cos I thought it was simply h
