It probably works on vanilla by sheer luck. It has been broken often
which was why I disabled gnome-vfs and gio in the Ubuntu build and
switched it to using gvfs-fuse. That appears to not work for you due to
the bugs with respect to NFS and gvfs-fuse not playing well together.

I retried the Sept 24 daily iso and I still get a login prompt when I
bootup with 'text' mode on the live cd.
I was expecting to be logged in as root. Sorry I don't think I was very

My Karmic Ubuntu 64-bit system seems to be affected by this one too.
For me this happens on every boot. It started on 22 September after the updates.
Before that I could always enter xsplash.
Now my Karmic never enters xsplash. Instead after the grub I always get
usplash, with a new look as from t
Amost all legit email flagged as junk, and when I tried to mark as NOT
JUNK, they all disappeared completely!

Pressing unlock only makes aplication become idle (i cant close it, must
kill it). There is no password monit. Restarts/samba reinstalls dont
work. Workaround is to manually edit smb.conf.
