I've do some research today about this problem as I find it really
annoying.
On my side the problem wasn't solved in Jaunty. Rythmbox or Tomet was
using 17% of the CPU. My research lead my to alsa. It's seams to be an
issue of the sample rate withing the dmix of default alsa device use by
gstreame
This is the only downside I can think of to this style of breadcrumbs
versus the current style. That being said, as long as a hover state is
provided for the breadcrumb elements, I think it would be fairly
apparent that the elements are clickable. Overall, I think it would be a
win for usability to

I always use F2, even when I used windows. The double-click thing is
extremely buggy in windows.
When you want to open a file you get stuck in rename mode and have to press esc

Sorry to re-open - I confirm this bug is still there and agree with Saul D. B.
When thumbnails (preview) are enabled, and you then enable viewing of hidden
files, Nautilus freezes. It never used to do this, so no idea what has
triggered it. I don't think it is connected to any folder type (

Bug 356702 is not just about the "dragging" message but about any window
switcher tooltip that sticks. As for the window list argument, dunno if
this is the same problems as the one in the workspace switcher.

Have an option to in the preferences to autoclose, but leave it uncheck.

I would love to see this added to Ubuntu. In my opinion, it IS very
intuitive to click on some selected text to rename that text. We do
that all the time, in documents, programs and on websites. Why should
it be any different to click on the text of an icon, after it is already
