In gconf, apps/gnome-power-manager/timeout reflects different values
than the UI shows.
On AC Power tab:

Running the three commands I suggested caused to to lose sound? Those
commands shouldn't do anything but display information. They also give
three separate outputs. Could you attach all three separate outputs?
