I installed a clean Intrepid x86 (32 bit), updated it, and restored
sucessfully my Fedora 8 evolution backup. I then created a new backup
file. I moved this file to my 64bit intrepid platform. Before
attempting a restore I removed the current '.evolution' directory, then
SUCCESSFU
I have the same issue after the update to 2.6.27-11 Kernel. If I boot
into 2.6.27-9 all is well, if I then boot into 2.6.27-11 no brightness
control. Works perfectly well with older kernel, just not the new
proposed update.
I am running an Acer Aspire 5920G so not HP specific either

only "use_speller" activated and no language specified, it recognizes

See attached screen print it shows Brasero not having any option for a
4.7 gb dvd. I presume there is a config file some were which lists
standard cd and dvd sizes (not sure where though ?).

When I choose Hibernate, the screen goes black and then the computer
just sits there.. Doing nothing. I have to press and hold the power
- button to shutdown. I've waited up to 30 minutes, to see if it was just

I disagree with this issue marked as low priority. Given the target
audience for ubuntu, I believe such things should be some higher
priority, and scheduled for the very next available update.
Technically, this hurts nothing. My system works fine.
