Pedro, I've attached a new backtrace, but to be honest, I'm not sure I
have installed the correct dbgsyms packages. For the record, I installed
gedit-dbgsyms, libglib2.0-0-dbg, libgtk2.0-0-dbg, and
libgnomevfs2-0-dbg. I couldn't find anything named gtk-dbgsym or glib-
dbgsym or similar.

using gedit. It should by default be highlighted in the same way as .for
files.
On my system I can see that there is no entry in /etc/mime.types for

Sorry for not responinding sooner, I've been busy, and without
internetconnetcion home :-/
However, as of today I experience no bugs i Fspot whatsoever. Slideshow
works fine, as do zoom in fullscreen. Compiz turned on :-)

I, too, had this problem on my HP 2133 with a Via Chrome driver. I can
confirm that fiddling with the visualizations did indeed allow me to
play MP3s.
Since I don't like visualizations anyway, I found that just disabling
them with the gconf editor worked. Here's what I changed:
1) Open terminal
I can confirm this bug. Ubuntu 8.04 i386. Totem-gstreamer shows an
error: "Could not read from resource". Totem-xine also has the bug, but
does not show an error - just fails to play the video/music.

with gdm. I ran gdm-setup the first time out of XFCE and gdm segfaulted

Hm, comparison of strace output on the working and failing systems shows
the failing one accessing /usr/local/lib/libsqlite3.so.0 shortly before
everything goes wrong. At the same point the working system accesses

in Ubuntu 8.04 since network-admin requires you to use the 'unlock'
