(previous installation was Simply Mepis 6.5), all folders appear fine,
except inbox, which doesn't appear at all. Inbox is present, and

Similar thing here with hardy alpha 4 installed through wubi.
During installation it sets the time to something (not utc but apparently some
American timezone, perhaps guessed from language settings) without asking me
where i am.

Hardy language packs are updated twice per week automaticaly.
The problem in this case is that gvfs.pot file was not
approved/imported. I just approved it, so next language pack update (on
Wednesday-Thursday) should include it.

There is a very easy workaround for this bug :
Reactivate the "display cover"-plugin in Rhythmbox. This can be done
with "gconf-editor" :
"/apps/rhythmbox/plugins/artdisplay/active" has to be set to "true".
After this Rhythmbox works normally.

After some exploration, the locations are drawn from an XML file in
/usr/share/gnome-applets/gweather/Locations.xml. I checked the source
of gnome-applets, but I could not find Locations.xml. What package
would this be in?

Well, I can, but I am preparing my PC to make a demonstration in my
school, and I wont like to lose my Compiz configuration. The gnome
system monitor is the only window without "borders", at least, normal
ones, do you want a print screen?
